When I was in college and it was time for our Senior Fashion Show my friend Kerri decided to make a wedding gown, and I remember thinking, "when she gets married that is going to be one amazing dress". Well Kerri got married last year and her dress blew everyone away. Of course she designed and sowed it herself. The dress featured a portrait neckline and a diamond back with vintage buttons of all different styles and sizes going down the train.
Kerri and David were married on September 26th, 2009 at the First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, WI, followed by a reception at The Bridgewood Resort. The happy couple and their bridal party rode on a trolley from the wedding to the reception and even made a few pit stops. One of them was Leon's- a 1950's drive in custard shoppe. When they were finally on their way to the reception they were stopped because of a train and took time to run out and get a few shots in front of it. The groom tried to dip the bride and he dropped her! Thankfully Kerri laughed it off and on the second try the got a magnificent photo.
At the reception every table had a different cake with a different flavor and design, all inspired by the brides dress. They also had a photo booth with fun props, including life size heads on a stick with funny faces of the couple.
One of my favorite things about this wedding is that it was full of elegance but on every corner there was another fun surprise!
